PRMSU VISION

The President Ramon Magsaysay State University shall be a premier learner-centered and proactive university in a digital and global society.

PRMSU MISSION

President Ramon Magsaysay State University shall primarily provide advance and higher professional, technical, and special instructions in various disciplines; undertake research, extension and income generation programs for the sustainable development of Zambales, the region and the country.

The President Ramon Magsaysay State University is committed to continually strive for excellence in instruction, research, extension and production to strengthen global competitiveness adhering to quality standards for the utmost satisfaction of its valued customers.

GOALS OF THE COLLEGE

Graduates of the Teacher Education Program have the ability to:
1. Relate education to the larger historical, social, cultural and political processes;
2. Use wide range of teaching methodologies to effectively facilitate learning in various types of environment;
3. Devise alternative teaching approaches for diverse learners;
4. Plan lessons with appropriate instructional materials for effective delivery and assessment of learning outcomes;
5. Build a strong character reflecting professional and ethical teaching standards; and
6. Grow in person and in-profession through the pursuit of lifelong learning;
7. Attain above the national passing percentage rate.

PROGRAMS OFFERED

BACHELOR OF ELEMENTARY EDUCATION

The BEED program aims to:
1. Equip prospective teachers with the necessary academic competencies and professional skills to prepare them for educational leadership.
2. Train students to undertake educational research and conduct extension activities.
3. Contribute to the development of the whole person endowed with appropriate intellectual and moral values.
4. Hone a person to become responsive and sensitive to the needs of his fellow persons and his environment.
5. Preserve, enrich, and promote desirable Filipino cultural heritage and show its relevance to contemporary Filipino society.

BACHELOR OF SECONDARY EDUCATION MAJOR IN ENGLISH

The BSED major in English program aims to:
1. Possess broad knowledge of language and literarture for effective learning.
2. Use English as a global language in a multilingual context as it applies to the teaching of language and literature.
3. Acquire extensive reading background in language, literature, and allied fields.
4. Demonstrate proficiency in oral and written communication.
5. Shows competence in employing innovative language and literature teaching approaches, methodologies, and strategies.
6. Use technology in facilitating language learning and teaching.
7. Inspire students and colleagues to lead relevant and transformative changes to improve learning and teaching language and literature.
8. Display skills and abilities to be a reflective and research-oriented language and literature teacher.

BACHELOR OF SECONDARY EDUCATION MAJOR IN FILIPINO

The BSED major in Filipino program aims to:
1. Nagpapamalas ng mataas na antas ng kaalaman sa pagtuturo ng wika at panitikang Filipino.
2. Nagpapakita ng malawak at malalim na pag-unawa at kaalaman sa ugnayan ng wika, kultura at lipunan.
3. Nakagagamit ng iba't ibang kasanayan at kaalaman sa proseso ng pagtuturo-pagkatuto.
4. Nagtataglay ng kaalaman hinggil sa usapin ng kultura at linggwistikong dibersidad ng bansa.
5. Nakapagdidisenyo ng malikhain, inobatibo at integratibong mga alternatibong dulog sa pagtuturo at pagkatuto.
6. Nakagagawa ng pananaliksik ukol sa ikauunlad ng Wikang Filipino bilang Wikang panturo.

BACHELOR OF SECONDARY EDUCATION MAJOR IN MATHEMATICS

The BSED major in Mathematics program aims to:
1. Exhibit competence in mathematical concepts and procedures.
2. Exhibit proficiency in relating mathematics to other curricular areas.
3. Manifest meaningful and comprehensive pedagogical content knowledge of mathematics.
4. Demonstrate competence in designing, constructing and utilizing different forms of assessment in mathematics.
5. Demonstrate proficiency in problem-solving by solving and creating routine and non-routine problems with different levels of complexity.
6. Use effectively appropriate approaches, methods, and techniques in teaching mathematics including technological tools.
7. Appreciate mathematics as an opportunity for creative work, moments of enlightenment, discovery and gaining insights of the world.

BACHELOR OF SECONDARY EDUCATION MAJOR IN SCIENCE

The BSED major in Science program aims to:

1. Demonstrate deep understanding of scientific concepts and principles.
2. Apply scientific inquiry in teaching and learning.
3. Utilizes effective science teaching and assessment methods.

BACHELOR OF SECONDARY EDUCATION MAJOR IN SOCIAL STUDIES

The BSED major in Social Studies program aims to:
1. Utilizes appropriate various sociocultural and historical materials in explaining current issues.
2. Organize communities towards self-reliance and self-sufficiency.
3. Demonstrate leadership skills that will help in teaching or training students who will empower their communities.
4. Integrate local and global perspective in teaching the principle of the common good.
5. Employ principles of sustainable development in teaching and learning.
6. Show scholarship in research and further learning.
7. Display the qualities of an innovative teacher who has mastery of the subject.

BACHELOR OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The BPEd program aims to develop highly competent and motivated teachers in their area of specialization.

1. Apply scientific and evidence-based practices critical to the educational and learning processes.
2. Demonstrate and adapt skillful performance to variety of physical activities and settings.
3. Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate safe and effective physical activity programs to address the needs of individual and groups in and/or non-school settings.
4. Use Appropriate assessments for students’ learning and examine critically the curriculum and program and enhance then necessarily.
5. Use information, media and technology in pedagogy and for lifelong learning.
6. Demonstrate professional ethics and cultivate solidarity to promote harmonious relationship.
7. Promote the advancement and pursue lifelong learning for personal and professional development.
8. Communicate effectively with PE practitioners, other professionals and stakeholders through the use of oral, written and technology formats deftly.
9. Carry out research activities to contribute to the development of the program.
