













AMMUNGAN NEEDS ASSESSMENT
PRMSU Iba College of Teacher Education Extension Services in cooperation with Amungan National High School administration and faculty successfully implemented the needs assessment/community profiling activity for the extension program tentatively entitled Ammungan: Sama sama sa Pag-angat sa Matemàtika, Wika, at Siyensiya. This program is the continuation of Project MÈRIT that began in 2021. Target beneficiaries were 150 Grade 7 learners and selected Grade 7 faculty of the said school last September 15, 2023.
PRMSU CTE Faculty Extensionists consists of Mr. Joven Ian Marquez, Mr. Mark Gil Dela Rosa, Mr. Leroy Flores, Dr. Gladys R. Alviar, Ms. Fe Marie L. Matias, Mr. Garry Almazan, and Mr. Ronald Paul Matampac assisted ANHS Faculty in administering the pre-assessment tools in Grade 7 Mathematics, English, and Filipino. A short meeting was conducted to discuss initial findings and possible way forward to address learning gaps through the Ammungan Extension Program.
A follow up needs assessment activity involving teachers was conducted last October 4, 2023. With the goal to further strengthen the partnership, PRMSU CTE Faculty Extension Team headed by BSEd Program Chair Dr. Baby S. Abagon and Mr. Joven Ian M. Marquez, CTE Extension Services Coordinator visited Amungan National High School to hear the presentation of action plans per department. The purpose of this meeting is to assess other needs of ANHS aside from learning gaps in literacy and numeracy identified in the initial needs assessment activity conducted last September 15, 2023.
The team was warmly welcomed by Mr. Allan Carbonell, Principal II and Mr. Paul Q. Lesaca, Head Teacher. The presentation of action plans was held at the Senior High School Building facilitated by Ms. Vilma Arfapo, Master Teacher. Each department presented their action plans while PRMSU CTE Team listened intently and made initial recommendation on what project to support. The meeting ended with a summary of the presentation from Mr. Allan Carbonell and a response of commitment from Mr. Joven Ian M. Marquez, PRMSU CTE Extension Coordinator to sustain the partnership for the next 2 years.
