Phase 1: Operations on Whole Numbers – Addition and Subtraction
Last November 17, 2023, the College of Teacher Education conducted their Phase 1 extension project at Amungan National High School, where four sections of Grade 7 students (136 students) were taught about Operations on Whole Numbers – Addition and Subtraction. There were four extensionists: Leroy A. Flores, Gelin Angela Dizon, Hicel Mae Mas, and Mildred Temporosa. The said phase 1 extension was designed to give students the knowledge and abilities they needed to be proficient in solving problems involving whole numbers using addition and subtraction operations.
Phase 2 and 3 were implemented this February 2024. The said phase 2 and 3 extension projects were designed to give students the knowledge and abilities they needed to be proficient in solving problems involving whole numbers using multiplication and division operations, and decimal numbers using addition and subtraction operations.
All the instructional materials used, such as window cards, test questions, and flashcards, were prepared by the CTE faculty extensionists and in collaboration with the Future Mathematics Teachers’ Organization (FMTO). In conclusion, the Phase 2 and 3 Extension Projects at Amungan National High School emerged as a commendable effort to enhance the mathematical skills of 136 Grade 7 students. Through strategic planning, dynamic teaching methods, and continuous assessment, the project achieved its objectives and set the stage for future phases to enrich the student’s educational experience further. The CTE extensionists’ commitment and the students’ enthusiasm combined to create a positive and impactful learning journey, leaving an indelible mark on the academic landscape of Amungan National High School.
